Currently Head Boy at Hogwarts, Nick is an enthusiastic, bubbly, friendly guy. Gets on well with almost everyone, always a smiling face willing to help out. Doesnt like conflict, so always tries to help out younger students who are being picked on. Doesn't work particularly hard in classes, but generally manages to do the bare minimum to get the grades he hopes for or needs. Is athletic and enjoys going for runs. He plays piano, and dreams of being more confident as a performer. REALLY hates conflict, to the point where he feels like he has to resolve things. Always needs to find the course of action to keep as many people happy as he can, and hurt as few as he can.

Personal History Edit

Nicholas Oliver Hackett was born in Cambridge, England to Edward and Josie Hackett. Josie is a talented witch from a strong wizarding family, but to her father’s disdain she fell in love with Edward when the two met in the middle of a sudden rainstorm in Scotland. Nick was given as many opportunities as possible by his loving parents, and from an early age showed talent as an athlete, excelling in Muggle sports, particularly athletics.

His mother Josie is Christina Croft's sister, which makes Jo Croft Nick's cousin.

He was told at age 5 of his wizarding blood, after an incident with his cousin, Jo. His mother began to teach him small bits and pieces here and there. Rather than focus on teaching him a lot of magic, however, both of his parents put a great deal of effort into developing Nick's morality – often discussing issues over the dinner table, and involving their young son. They were trying to build their boy’s personality as much as possible so he would be able to stay true to himself when he left home.

At age 9, Nick was introduced to Quidditch by his mother, and quickly took a liking to the game, supporting the Tutshill Tornados. His mother also taught him to fly a broomstick, and noticed he showed a real affinity to flying. However, Nick obtained a paralysing fear of heights from an accident as a ten year old, and this has been quite a barrier to his continued honing of his considerable skill. Without his fear of heights, he would be an invaluable Quidditch player, with his skill on a broom and excellent coordination. He would play either Chaser or Seeker with high skill in either position.Nick is now a bright boy with strong integrity, and has plenty of friends. He does not put a lot of time into his studies but generally manages to get by. He is very coordinated and tends to make most physical tasks look easy and graceful. He also strongly wishes to become an Animagus.

His school years have been relatively uneventful. He never excelled in his classes, nor failed - he just gave them a lower priority than a lot of other students, preferring to focus on his friendships and relationships. Through this, he gained a reputation amongst his peers as a great person to talk to when they had any problems. He grew a close friendship with Jacob MacLeish, growing to the point where he bumped into Jake and Cassiopoeia Lestrange, and learned of their relationship - and was then trusted with that information, after being pinned down by Jake and threatened with the loss of his memory. This shook his trust in his friend, but nonetheless he agreed to keep the secret - although, he claimed that he would have been far happier to keep the secret if he hadn't been threatened in the first place.

Nick developed a relationship with Hufflepuff Jazzy Calloway - the two literally bumped into each other as Nick was coming out of the Gryffindor Common Room, and hit it off after that. Their first date was at a small restaurant in Hogsmeade, in which their table was charmed to appear to be in the middle of a summery meadow.

However, after Jazzy went off to play a part in a Broadway musical, the two started to grow apart and this combined with Nick's growing closeness to best friend Holden Rowan led to Nick breaking up with her upon her return. Nick and Holden are still going strong.

Nick was also made Head Boy at the start of his sixth year.

Personality Edit

Nick is a highly energetic guy, and a good athlete. He is also very easygoing, and makes friends easily. He is good at reading people's emotions, and so a lot of his friends tend to turn to him if they need to talk about something. His loyalty to them is his strongest trait, and he trusts easily, possibly too easily at times. He believes in fairness to all, and as such he can't stand people who are arrogant or discriminate against people.

Nick accidently stumbled upon friend Jacob MacLeish and his girlfriend Cassiopoeia Lestrange making up after an hour-long split. The relationship was secret and they didn't want this to change, so he promised to keep quiet about it and kept his word.
