Once a principled, head strong, fun-loving, party goer - Nic Moony decided where and what she wanted to do in life - become a Curse Breaker to help aid the Light side to win the war, a way without bloodshed. However, when she killed her treacherous boyfriend in Egypt, she went on the run only to be spotted a few times in various countries around the world. Now she has completely disappeared of the face of the Earth.

Personal History

Nichola Jayne Bauer, or more commonly known as Nic Moony (a family nickname), was born in Norwich Hospital to a loving family of her parents, Cliff and Althea Bauer and twin older siblings Chase and Georgina Bauer. The family made their home comfortably in Cambridge, where her father owns a pet shop in the suburbs and her mother makes the daily commute to the Ministry of Magic as Head Director of the Magical Law Enforcement Department. It was a happy childhood for the three Bauer children, and they grew to rely and be dependent on one another once they all reached the age to attend Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry.
Nic showed her magical ability when she was five years old when she made her favourite teddy bear talk to scare her older sister, George, who only retaliated by magically sowing it's mouth shut from the other side of the room. Although she showed her magical ability later then the average child, Nic was quick to pick up any sort of magic. When she was seven she picked up her Mum's wand and used it to make her books speak aloud their words to her. It was from here that her love of knowledge and books sparked.
Like the older Bauer siblings, Nic recieved her Hogwarts letter and began to attend the year she turned twelve. It was here that she made a close number of friends, including SC Fletcher, Angelina Black, Kate Wilson and Xavier Lestrange. With her new found friends she partied and generally had a lot of fun. She was naturally clever being a Ravenclaw, but still had to work for her grades, and when her older brother Chase opened a club in Hogsmeade, her work effort slid and more effort went into sneaking out to Hogsmeade to dance the night away, which was reflected in her grades at OWL level.
However, Nic found a liking to power when she recieved both Quidditch captain and Prefect status in her fifth year, despite losing to Hufflepuff in the Quidditch final due to SC Fletcher's captaincy. With the ability to patrol and give and recieve housepoints, there was a newfound respect for her and so she tried harder at her studies and improved her grades at NEWT level.
Though her sixth and seventh year proved to be difficult as the war wore on, her best friend SC was kidnapped and her older sister George was hospitalised in a coma as a result of a Death Eater raid in London. This brought down the reality of how close the war was to home, and Nic started to think about the future. She found her principles, and decided to stick by them, as she thought that it was the way forward and the way to win the war. She worked on her Charms and Ancient Runes, as she found a natural talent in curse-breaking. This, consequently, got her a place in the Curse-Breaking Apprenticeship scheme in Egypt after she left Hogwarts, which Nic accepted despite knowing it will be a three year course with four weeks off a year, which meant little time to see her family and friends, the most important thing to her at the time.
During her time in Hogwarts, Nic did not have much luck in the way with love. She had a few flings, but during her sixth year she began having feelings for one of her best friends, Xavier Lestrange, who was at the time in the middle of a rocky relationship with his girlfriend Angelina Black. But then, the one day that Xavier decided to leave Angelina for Nic was the day that Angelina announced she was pregnant with his child, and thus, he went back to her. After that, Nic developed feelings for another friend of hers, Jack Callaghan, which was unrequited.
When in Egypt, Nic met Dermot O'Brian, a fellow classmate of the apprenticeship scheme, whom she become close to. Very quickly they established a relationship which last a couple of months. However, things started to rattle when SC came to Egypt to see Nic and instantly distrusted Dermot. The exsacerbated when Nic was visited by her twin siblings, Chase and George, and Jack Callaghan. Chase, having already been struck by dark curses by Rose Smith (Jack's ex, who was supposedly dead, but actually was indoctrinated by Death Eaters and so became a powerful one herself) got 'bad vibes' from Dermot, as he can now sense the darkness in someone by touching them. After questioning, Dermot revealed himself to be a spy for the Voldemort in aid to kill all descendants of Barty Crouch Jnr (him being Nic's uncle) This brought on a fight between them, and as a result Chase was cursed in the leg and Jack recieved a bloody nose. SC pointed her gun at Dermot, but in a final moment of rage, Nic stole the gun and shot Dermot herself.
Afterwards, she run in her animagus form (a coyote) in shame, and wasn't seen for a long time. She was chased by the Ministry and Death Eaters, until she got to Australia, when SC found her on the East Coast. Here, she offered Nic a job within ARKITEKT and the chance to wipe her records, but Nic refused, not wanting to be promoted for being a murderer. Soon after, she was captured by Death Eaters, and taken back to the Callaghan Torture Chambers for questioning.
Nic kept to her principles. Which was that there was a way to win the war without bloodshed, howeer, he had now killed, and was willing to pay the price for it. Lucius Malfoy was the man who questioned her in the Torture Chambers, threatening the life of her siblings and her niece in return for her own. Somethng which Nic was prepared to give. But then a deal was made. Since Nic could replace Dermot in penetrating the wards at Hogwarts, something the Death Eaters were keen to do, she would be kept alive if she did this for them. She agreed, and had been working for Death Eaters since. On occassion there had been a few meet-ups with her old friends. SC Fletcher caught up with her in Cairo as Nic had been given the job to seek out new infomation on Lisa Lestrange-Black, aka Lisa Brown, and SC would be the one to ask. And then Nic went back to Hogsmeade for a few nights, running into Anyamarie Valdez, arguing with her lder brother Chase, and drinking a cup of coffee with Jack Callaghan.
She went back to work after and had been forced to go out on a few Death Eater raids to make up numbers. She was adement that she didn't aid the Death Eaters in their mission to destroy lives, but she didn't help the other side. She always stood back, apart from the terror, not wanting to be part of it. Because of this emotion which Nic so strongly felt, it led to her fatal death when she attended a raid on the one and only SC Fletcher who ends up shooting Nic without realising who she is.
Nic died on 14th February 2010 from a gun shot wound to the stomach. She died giving SC Fletcher messages to pass on to her older brother, Chase Bauer, and her older sister, George Bauer and their children.
